Keep your eyes peeled for some significant progress on Neon Dust this year. So far, two tracks are complete and my attention is already on the next one. And while not much progress has been made from a song point of view over the last year, there have been some big steps forward in other areas of the project.
Having just reread that first paragraph, I realise it sounds like a quarterly shareholders report, but I think I'll run with it.
We have seen a big change with regards to premises, with the completion earlier this year of my new workstation in a brand new upmarket location. Needless to say, having worked bloody hard, I am chuffed to bits with it.
While a lot has gone into this, I am hoping it will pay dividends in the form of a significant increase in efficiency and productivity. We feel that projects such as these benefit hugely from creative oases and thus we see the involved outlay as an extremely good investment. Somewhere comfortable, quiet and functional in which the creative team can work will be vital as Neon Dust goes from strength to strength. Not to mention it's ruddy smart. This year promises to be a big one for the project.
Having finished on a classic rock song and a prog rock number, attention now focuses on a realtively quick win, with a stripped down acoustic folk track. It's title? Ripples. For this I am on the look out for piano players, irish whistle players, acordion players and drummers with a light touch, happy to go with the brush rather than the sticks.
Check out instagram for rough snippet of the track if you're interested in throwing your hat in the ring.
